Of course, there’s no better casting director than the internet. And honestly, who is to say that the cast of New Girl or It’s Always Sunny in Philidelphia wouldn’t make for great versions of George, John, Ringo, and Paul? Personally speaking, if Mendes had any sense, he would jump to get the four Irish actresses from Derry Girls to portray the original Liverpudlian bowl-cut boy band.

Then there’s the speculation regarding the tone of each movie. Film nerds are pulling for a gritty showcase of John Lennon’s early life, while true film enthusiasts can’t wait for the Muppet-style Ringo film. Such a cultural enigma’s life really can’t be captured any other way.
